Please note the following requirements in respect of swimming pools
The Building Act requires an inspection be carried out within 6 months of approval, unless work has not commenced
If the pool is not ready for inspection, we will contact the builder to arrange an inspection for a later date. If you do not respond, an inspection will be carried out as required by the Act.
If the work is not completed at 9 months from the permit approval date, the builder and the owner will be sent a Reminder Notice advising that the approval will lapse at 12 months (or where a combined application with a dwelling, a Reminder Notice will be sent at 21 months to lapse the approval at 24 months). If the permit lapses, a new application will be required to complete the pool.
An approval can be extended once if further time is required to complete the pool.
